Lýsing
A traditional Icelandic lopapeysa, knitted by hand by one of the members of the Handknitting Association of Iceland (Handprjónasamband Íslands), the co-operative of Icelandic knitters founded in 1977. Material: Icelandic wool, unspun, 3-ply (lopi). Main colour navy, pattern in blues and white. Origin: Iceland. Lopi keeps its lanolin, so the sweater stays warm in wet weather and sheds rain and dirt. What sets it apart: most knitwear is acrylic or blended with nylon. This is pure Icelandic wool, knitted by hand in Iceland – nothing synthetic to shed microplastics in the wash.
